    • Register for the Event: Sign up as a participant to get started.
    • Set a Goal: Aim to meet or exceed the suggested target of $2000 collectively with other participants.
    • Decide Your Level: Choose the number of laps or Level you plan to acheive. (see #4 below)
    • Share Your Story: Explain why the environment and nature matters to you and how contributions will make an impact.
  2. What are some effective fundraising strategies?
    • Social Media: Post updates, photos, and videos to spread the word and gain sponsors.
    • Email Outreach: Reach out to friends, family, and co-workers with a personal message.
  3. What should I tell potential donors about the cause?
    • The Earth Care Connect Walkathon Fundraiser aims to promote connection to nature, environmental awareness and community service while raising funds for the Texas Master Naturalist Program. This family-friendly event allows all ages to enjoy a fun day of activities while supporting a meaningful cause.
    • All proceeds will be donated to the Texas Master Naturalist Program's Blackland Prairie Chapter. Your donation helps support the development and training of volunteers for natural resource education, outreach, and service, with funds used for chapter projects, program expansion, and staff support.
  4. Are there incentives for fundraising milestones?
    • YES! Here's a list of milestones:
      • Earth Helper Level - (1 lap = $9)
      • Brilliant Star Level - (3 laps = $27)
      • Unifier Level - (5 laps = $45)
      • Peacemaker Level - (9 laps = $81)
      • World Citizen Level - (19 laps = $171)
  5. How can I encourage others to join me in fundraising?
    • o Invite your team, club, or other interest group to walk together. Wear matching shirts or pick a theme to stand out! Get creative! Walking with others builds excitement and accountability.
    • Encourage local clubs, schools, or community groups to participate as teams.
  6. How should I thank my supporters?
    • Send personalized thank-you messages to acknowledge their generosity.
    • Share what you learned from the event with your sponsors.
  7. What should I bring to the Walkathon?
    • Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, and weather-appropriate clothing.
    • Any promotional materials or signs if you are part of a team promoting your fundraising efforts.
  8. I'm done walking. Now what?
    • Notify your sponsor after completing your walk. Have them donate their pledge here, (They may make their contribute at any time).
